Heterochromia! Beautiful eyes!

Sectoral Heterochromia
It’s quite rare. Some people love it. Some find it horrible. Heterochromia is a difference in coloration in the eye. The most common type of heterochromia is when it is inherited. Our eye color is determined by the amount and type of pigment in the eye’s iris. Here is a picture explaining different eye colors.
There are four types of heterochromia. The first one is Sectoral Heterochromia this happens when only a section of the eye is of a different color. Read on to learn about them (and see some awesome pictures!).
Acquired Heterochromia is when you received heterochromia due to an injury or tumor.

Acquired Heterochromia
Complete Heterochromia is when both your eyes of different colors.

Complete Heterochromia
Central Heterochromia is when the center of one of your eyes is of a different color.

Central Heterochromia
Animals may also have heterochromia.

Want eyes like these? Sadly, it’s very unlikely you’ll be able to change your eye color.
However, there are contacts lens. Just make sure to keep your eyes properly lubricated with eye drops.
If you don’t keep them lubricated it could hurt your vision.
Do any of you readers have eyes like this? If so feel free to mail me and I’ll gladly include your pictures

My eyes look a lot like the example of central heterochromia. They’re green with a hazel brown in the center, though not as bright as this picture, it looks like that image is enhanced, even if just with a flash. Maybe I’ll post a pic sometime.

Hey!
My eyes are blue but they have a gold ring in them too.
Is that heterochromia or just weird patterning?

Oh wow. I have central heterochromia: my eyes are green at first glance, but you can clearly see a ring of light blue around the pupil. That’s so cool! I never had a name for it before today

hi all. I am wondering if any of you fellow heterochromians out there also have the ability to write with both hands? are intuitive? have three crowns in scalp? and I also have a “crater” in the pariatial part of scalp. What about any folk lore concerning this. In the 60′s my mom was into witch craft as well as a hippy. I was born in 1966

Hey, i thought you’re questions were very interesting. I am left handed to write (fine definition) and my strength and power for sports is right handed. I also have 3 crowns.
There a certain name for this. In result there is a part of the brain that is larger than normal, which increases imagination, creativity and logic.

I can say im intuitive, but im not sure of ‘three crowns in scalp’ – anything else and I dont have a clue about
I only have complete heterochromia but I have not been diagnosed with any diseases or causes for it .. yet
my eyes are simply vivid brown with an orangey tinge, while my left eye looks like a faded dull brown

I have sectoral Heterochromia. My left eye is completely dark brown, my right eye the top half is light brown, then the bottom half is split into two sections, one being dark brown, the same as my left eye, and the other section is green. Wouldn’t trade my eyes for any. love them.

I have the central heterochromia and sectoral, the central occurs with both my eyes and the sectoral only occurs in my left eye where a patch of blue is developing =] its really weird.
I only just noticed one of my eyes was lighter than the other and decided to check.
I found the best way to see a difference is with flash photography.

i can say i have central heterochromia, just like in the 4th pic, with green and brown, but is it that rare? i heard it is transmitted from parents to children.. my father has central heterochromia: blue iris and gold ring around the pupil.. are there other reasons besides heredity?
